Changes to Special Victims Cases in Criminal Court, Queens County

Queens Criminal5

Dear Colleague:

The Criminal Court, Queens County, is making a courtroom change for Special Victims cases.

In order to accommodate the large increase in domestic violence cases, starting Monday, September 9, 2013, all Special Victims cases, currently designated as AP4S/S70 and heard on Mondays in the AP4 courtroom, will remain on Mondays but will be heard in courtroom JP1, Room 118, on the first floor of the courthouse.  JP1will be available for jury trials Tuesdays through Fridays.

Judges in arraignments will begin calendering DV Bureau cases now for Mondays in Part AP4, beginning with the date of September 9, 2013.

AP4 will handle only DV cases and will do so all five days a week starting September 9th.  Special Victims cases will continue to be heard on Mondays, designated AP4S/S70, but will be heard in the JP1 courtroom.

Very truly yours,

QCBA Staff
