The Queens County Bar Association has been certified by the NYS Continuing Legal Education as an Accredited Provider in the State of New York for the period of October 2019 through October 2022.
YOU ARE REQUIRED TO:
Keep your credit certificates in a safe place. They will be required in the event that you are audited by the Office of Court Administration.
Monitor the number and categories of credits you accumulate so that you know when, if, and how you have satisfied the OCA requirement.
Certify on your biennial registration that you have met your CLE credit requirement.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ATTORNEYS ADMITTED MORE THAN TWO (2) YEARS:
You are required to have completed 24 Credit Hours of CLE, according to the following breakdown:
Experienced attorneys must complete a total of 24 accredited CLE credit hours during each biennial reporting cycle (the two-year period between your attorney registrations).
At least four (4) of these credit hours must be in the Ethics and Professionalism category, at least one (1) of these credit hours must be in the Diversity, Inclusion and Elimination of Bias category and at least one (1) of these credit
hours must be in cybersecurity, privacy and data protection. The remaining credit hours may be in any category of credit.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ATTORNEYS ADMITTED LESS THAN TWO (2) YEARS:
Newly admitted attorneys must complete at least 16 transitional CLE credit hours in each
The first set of 16 transitional CLE credit hours must be completed by the first anniversary of admission to the Bar, in the designated categories of credit. The second set of 16 transitional CLE credit hours must be completed between the first and second anniversaries.
